I had a chance to attend a beautiful performance by Kabir Cafe band in December. Usually Gwalior, the city I live and grew up in is not the hotspot for new age or folk music bands and as expected the audience turnout was very very low.
The event was a political party event where the party invited the band to celebrate their electoral victory in the state, the party workers really enjoyed the Kavi Sammelan and well most of them left by the time Kabir Cafe started their performance.

दो दिन का मेला ॥
[Cannot believe it's been two months already.]
Another month passed, February has gone by and we are already half way through the first week of March.
My best friend, turned twenty eight yesterday! Happy Birthday to him! Soon our thirties are coming.
This weekend, I have binged on Shark Tank S3 - while initially I was not very excited to see the series because I felt the depth is missing. However after watching a bunch of episodes today, I believe it's a positive change where Entrepreneurship is becoming mainstream and more and more mango people would find courage in their hearts to start a business or work on their passion project.
Watching these inspiring stories instantly spark a buzz as I write this are:
Millet Amma - After going through a life shattering loss of 300 Crores plus in their steel business, Ruchika & Ajay Bhulwaka started Millet Amma, a millet based food start up.
Without - Leaving his high paying directorial role in the USA, Anish Malpani came to India to solve the plastic problem where with their proprietary technology they are recycling packet of chips to make jewellery and sunglasses.
Definitely something which has a potential to create a huge impact.
These are just a few stories which I can recall right now, there are many more which are definitely worth watching.
Book I read in February -> May Be You should talk to someone, I left a review about it here.
Movies I have watched -> Lapata Ladies by Kiran Rao
While throughout February I dint find any releases which could pique my interest, just the day before a friend recommended Lapata Ladies and I watched trailer the next afternoon and booked the tickets for evening.
I doubt if Lapata Ladies will become a commercial success because it's very cinematic in its appearance and doesn't star any mainstream actor or actresses. However, it's still a success in a lot of ways because of how subtly the writing and direction breaks down strong patriarchal notions of "Ghunghat", "Dowry", Role of women in Families and many patriarchal stereotypes which we have internalised and learnt to live with.
The movie is a funny tale of Deepak's life who mistakenly brings the wrong bride to his village Surajmookhi which launches the layer by layer revelation of the other rebellious character of Jaya who is trying to break multiple patriarchal norms back in 2001.
Definitely a must and a fun watch.
I suppose that's all for now.
See you next month.
