As I lay here with headphones plugged in, listening to a song from Shah Rukh Khan's latest movie, "Jawan".
I am thinking about winter's arrival, eagerly awaiting the sun to be calmer. According to the Hindi calendar, we are in Hemant Ritu (हेंमत ऋतु), the season just before winter, and this season is filled with festivities week after week, with Dusshera and Diwali just around the corner.
On September 29th, we entered Pitru Paksha, a ritual in which Hindus pay homage to their ancestors.
Although I consider myself deeply agnostic, I find myself deeply fascinated by the rituals found in different religions and how they become an integral part of a person's life – almost like a constant map for one's journey.
Even the concept of purusharthas is a well-crafted answer to the existential questions that Gen Z and Millennials grapple with.
The most comforting thing about growing older is that you slowly begin to understand and make peace with your inner and external world.
"Where's the fire, what's the hurry about?
You better cool it off before you burn it out.
You've got so much to do, and only
So many hours in a day."
Honestly, I feel as lost as ever at twenty-seven with the world constantly pulling you in different directions. I just allow myself to vibe to Billy Joel's voice and sing:
"Slow down, you crazy child,
Take the phone off the hook and disappear for a while.
It's alright; you can afford to lose a day or two (oooh).
When will you realize?"
That's all for today; I will see you next month.
Thank you for reading the rant!
